It incorporates many of the cool things from Amarok (and other media players) like automatic fetching of album art, handling of large libraries, lyrics fetching, artist/album information via Wikipedia, Last.fm submission support, and optional iPod support via a plugin.
In addition, Exaile also includes a built-in SHOUTcast directory browser, tabbed playlists (so you can have more than one playlist open at a time), blacklisting of tracks (so they don't get scanned into your library), downloading of guitar tablature from fretplay.com, and submitting played tracks on your iPod to Last.fm.
This release contains some bug fixes and translation updates for the 0.2.11b release.
If you use this release on Gutsy, you may noticed lower than usual volume limits. This is because of the equalizer in the gst-plugins-bad package (we’re not quite sure why yet). If you aren’t happy with the volume you are getting, you can try turning the equalizer all the way up, or start exaile with the --no-equalizer option.

This beta release includes a whole ton of changes (as well as the usual slew of bug fixes):
- Replay Gain support
- Better tag editor (similar to that found in Ex Falso)
- Integrated CD burning and ripping
- Update notifier
- Artist grouping by initial
- File transfer support in the Mass Storage Plugin
- Advanced Configuration Editor
- Win32 support (though rough, it’s a start)
New plugins:
- Send via Bluetooth
- Win32 mmkeys
- icastplugin (Streaming to a shoutcast or icecast server)
- httpserver (A neat way to control Exaile via the web)
Exaile now has 24 plugins!!

This also marks a feature and string freeze so that we can get ready for the 0.2.11 release.
Here are a few examples:
